THOSE WHO HAVE INSPIRED CHARLEY’S LIFE AND WORK

Thorncrown Chapel, by architect Fay Jones, was my initial inspiration for pursuing this life’s work.

Pictured on the upper right is my grandfather, George Douglas, who is in the Engineering Hall of Fame at the University of Arkansas. He always told me to follow my passion, taught me my work ethic, and was always a source of strength and support.

Two of my professors, Davide Vitale (photo upper left) and Frank Doughty continuously pushed me to excel. During my internship in Rome, Vitale took us to see many of Michaelangelo’s works that few will ever see. Having witnessed those, made me understand that the work that I and many others do, will last long after we are gone.

James Jepson, pictured middle right, is a dear friend, was my collegiate tutor, salutatorian of our graduating class, running mate in Rome, and summertime construction partner.

My mother, Susan Morrison, pictured on the lower right, a nationally acclaimed master wildlife artist and environmentalist, taught me the rudiments of design and art, the beginnings of my love for architecture, wildlife, and the environment.

Pictured lower left, is Larry Mansker, a Eureka Springs master artist, with the rendition he did of my Eureka Springs High School project.

And, most of all, my two children, Nicole and Nathan, who are the wind beneath my wings.
